  Mahasiddha Centre wishes you all a very Happy 2010, may all your virtuous wishes be fulfilled, and may there be happiness, good health, good fortune, and harmony amongst your family, friends, and community. May all the obstacles to World Peace be pacified!

  We would also like to extended a big Thank You to the kind benefactors in our community. Your good-hearted and generous support of Mahasiddha Buddhist Centre is enabling it to grow into a thriving Buddhist Centre and continue to be a source of holy Dharma for more and more living beings. Buddha's instructions, the Dharma, are the non-deceptive and reliable solution to our daily human problems. By supporting the Centre, you are directly and indirectly benefitting all whom the Centre is serving.

Fear, disappointment, frustration, loneliness, feeling deceived, and losing hope, often leads to the unbearable suffering of depression. On this course we will gain a strongly positive outlook for our daily life.

the Foundation Study Programme

enrol on the 2010 Foundation Programme
 with Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Sangdak

at the Mahasiddha Buddhist Centre, 2 Hollings Rd, Malvern

starting again on Saturday 17th Jan., 1.30pm,
and then weekly on Saturdays from 2pm - 6.30pm

We are studying the popular Buddhist text 'Eight Steps to Happiness'
which presents inspiring and reliable solutions for difficult times.
The Foundation Program is a structured study program that enables us to gain deeper understanding and personal experience of Buddhist teachings. We learn to develop a regular meditation practice and we become part of a warm and supportive spiritual community.

teachers, the classes present a practical overview of meditation and provide meaningful guidance for daily life.

The classes are suitable for everyone.

Berea Tuesdays, 7pm - 8.15pm, at 8 Ellis Brown Road
Kloof -  Tuesdays, 7pm - 8.15pm at Kloof Library

Hillcrest - Fridays 9.30am - 10.30am at Hillcrest Library
Malvern (Queensburgh) Wednesdays, 7pm - 8.30pm at Mahasiddha Centre
La Lucia Sundays, 9.30am – 10.30am at La Lucia Library
Pietermaritzburg Mondays, 6.45pm - 8pm  at 60 Oakleigh Av., Wembley

One of the advantages of humility is that it enables us to learn from everyone. A proud person cannot learn from other people because he feels he already knows better than they. On the other hand, a humble person who respects everyone and recognizes that they may even be an emanation of Buddha has the openness of mind to learn from everyone and every situation. Just as water cannot collect on mountain peaks, so good qualities and blessings cannot gather on the rocky peaks of pride. If, instead, we maintain a humble, respectful attitude towards everyone, good qualities and inspiration will flow into our mind all the time, like streams flowing into a valley."
