Improving the quality of life
By practising Buddha’s teachings, or Dharma, we can protect ourself from suffering and problems and experience real happiness. Buddha taught scientific methods for gradually overcoming minds such as anger, jealousy, and especially our self-grasping ignorance. Through sincerely practicing his instructions we can develop positive minds such as patience, love, compassion and wisdom, which lead to the experience of lasting inner peace and happiness.
These methods work for anyone, in any country, at any time. Once we have gained experience of them for ourselves we can pass them on to others so they, too, can enjoy the same benefits. The Buddhist way of life - peace, loving kindness and wisdom - is just as relevant and beneficial today as it was when Buddha appeared in ancient India.
